New World Department Store China Limited (“NWDS” or the “Company”; Hong Kong stock code: 825), one of the largest owners and operators of department stores in the PRC, is pleased to announce that the winners of the Northeastern Region Semi-Final of“The 1st NWDS Spokesperson” Contest were born. The champion, 1st runner-up and 2nd runner-up of the female group were Zhuang Wen from Dalian, Zhang Zi Yin from Shenyang and Li Jia from Harbin respectively; while for the male group, the champion was Li Yun Long from Shenyang, 1st runner-up was Xu Fei Yu from Shenyang and 2nd runner-up was Ye Bang Xin from Dalian. The 6 winners will strive for the championship of the 1st NWDS Spokesperson in Final contest that is tentatively planned to be held in Beijing in May 2010 against winners from other regions.
The NWDS nationwide launching ceremony cum “The 1st NWDS Spokesperson” Contest – Northeastern Region Semi-Final was successfully held at Shenyang New World Department Store – Zhonghua Road Branch Store on 9 September 2009. The contest was full of bustle and excitement with contestants endeavored to deliver the image of “Enriching Lives Enhancing Characters”.?After a warm up self introduction, contestants imitated the physician to perform a hot dance, fully demonstrating their energetic power.?In the swimsuit Q&A session, contestants not only showcased their perfect body figure, but also shared their smart tips of daily living and trendy fashion sense. During the last performance, contestants performed a cat walk show on T stage with their individual mix & match of clothing to portray their trendy style and true characters.
Mr Philip Cheung, Managing Director and Executive Director of NWDS, was the Chief of the panel of judges in Northeastern Region Semi-Final. Other judges included First Class National Make-up Artist, Ms Jiang Hong; Professional Yoga Trainer, Ms Jessie Zhang; Senior Personal Image Consultant, Ms Gao Wei-Hong and Chief Editor of Style Weekly, Ms Li Zheng-Rong. Total marks of each contestant consisted of 60% from panel of judges, 10% from media and selected platinum VIP members respectively at the scene and 20% from customers votes received during the public polling period.?Overwhelming responses were received from the public polling with approximately 60,000 votes were collected.?The marks of the 6 winners gained in the Northeastern Region Semi-Final will not carry forward to the Final Contest that will be held next year.?This applies to winners of all regions.?Participants of Final Contest will be evaluated again on their on-site performances with all marks re-calculated.
“The 1st NWDS Spokesperson” Contest will select 1 male and 1 female spokesperson who will be awarded 1-year spokesperson contract which worths a total of RMB 600,000 prize, entitling to participate the tailor-made spokesperson activities which include attending various club promotional activities organized by over 30 stores of NWDS, be the cover models of “Best of New World” magazine and embracing media interviews.
